“Just living isn’t enough,” said the butterfly, “one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.” – Hans Christian Anderson
A friend is currently traveling in Tahiti and I thought what better time to celebrate the quintessential flower of the tropics, the Hibiscus. Altenew’s Hibiscus Bouquet was the perfect choice for this celebration of the tropics! On this card colorful flowers create a riot of colors layered one upon the other. Different levels of the flowers are created using foam tape. Centers of the flowers were colored using Altenew alcohol markers in Caramel Truffle and Paper Bag. “You” die from coordinating Hibiscus Bouquet die set.
The ACEP required class All About Layering 2 offered many design elements to boost the overall impression of a card.I incorporated these in my card design: backdrop created using ink blending accented with splatters, raise some elements off surface of card to create dimension, and triangle/three’s design principle to proved eye pleasing movement around the focal point.
